has filed for reelection in Kentucky. 
As the Republican seeks a seventh term next year
(WHY)?

McConnell was first elected to the Senate in 1984 and has been re-elected five times since. 
During the 1998 and 2000 election cycles, he was chairman of 
the National Republican Senatorial Committee.
Still his state 
is at the bottom 
as a poor, poor, state!
