Number 22 so far this year!

Don’t take the guns put more in schools?

Washington/NRA, when is it the O.K. time to be able to blame you both for this one of 22?

Number 22 so far this year!
Just add more people with guns in schools!
Oh Wait, he got shot also!
Santa Fe ISD police officer has been injured.

A Galveston County commissioner said the injured officer worked for the Santa Fe school district as a school resource officer.

At least eight people -- and as many as 10 -- have died as a result of a shooting Friday morning at a high school in the southeastern Texas city of Santa Fe, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said.

This is the third school shooting in eight days, and the 22nd since the beginning of the year in the United States.

“Unrig the System”

Patrick Murphy     and   David Jolly
Something good from a lot of bad?

In Congress, the typical workweek is from Tuesday through Thursday.

The Ocala Star-Banner.
Trying to end the dysfunction
Our Opinion:

Two former Florida congressmen, a Republican and a Democrat, are traveling the state to talk about bipartisanship.

David Jolly and Patrick Murphy once represented rare congressional districts that contained registered voters evenly split between Democrats and Republicans.

So they had incentives to seek moderation.

Now they would like to

“Unrig the system”

For the next generation.

The duo has three proposed reforms:
Address gerrymandered districts,
Closed primaries
And
The distorted role of money in politics.

The Fair Districts Amendment has improved matters a bit, but mainly along geographic lines.

The next phase of the effort should seek to create districts that are closer to 50-50 representation, Murphy and Jolly said.

Murphy and Jolly support a system that will allow voters to vote in whichever primary they choose.

Finally, Jolly and Murphy said something must be done to radically change the way money dominates politics.

WELL DUH!

This is what our fore-fathers, our states, the country and the voting public have been wanting since the very beginning of the country!

Oil prices rise after Air Strike

Oil prices rise after Air Strike

Sounds like a normal statement don’t it?

Well to a normal person I guess it would.

However, I have never been accuser as being normal, no sense starting now?

Syria itself produces very little oil.

As a U.S. military strike against Syria grows increasingly likely, oil prices have slowly crept higher.

WHY?
Because it can!

Today, the U.S. actually gets most of its imported oil from Canada and Latin America.

And many Americans might be surprised to learn that the U.S. now imports roughly the same amount of oil from Africa as it does from the Persian Gulf.

African imports were a bit higher in 2010, while Persian Gulf oil accounted for a bit more last year.

What I do not understand is why my friends and neighbors are so contented with this greed?

As you know, I worked just shy of 40 years with oil and gas, working at keeping equipment working
(Service Technician).

Thanks to, Ralph Nader in the 1970’s

This country has capped billions of gallons of oil in the ground; just clean up the sulfur and use it if you must?

The Paul Ryan Story:From Flimflam to Fascism

The Paul Ryan Story:
From Flimflam to Fascism

Opinion Columnist
April 12, 2018
Flimflam - Noun 1.nonsensical or insincere talk.
"I suppose that you suspect me of pseudointellectual
Verb 1. swindle (someone) with a confidence game.
"the tribe was flimflammed out of its land"
Pseudointellectual -
Someone who pretends to be more intelligent than they are.
Definition of fascism
1 often capitalized : a political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition
2 : a tendency toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or dictatorial control
early instances of army fascism and brutality

Why did Paul Ryan choose not to run for re-election? What will be the consequences? Your guess is as good as mine — literally. I can speculate based on what I read in the papers, but so can you.

On the other hand, I do have some insight into how Ryan — who has always been an obvious con man, to anyone willing to see — came to become speaker of the House. And that’s a story that reflects badly not just on Ryan himself, not just on his party, but also on self-proclaimed centrists and the news media, who boosted his career through their malfeasance. Furthermore, the forces that brought Ryan to a position of power are the same forces that have brought America to the edge of a constitutional crisis.

About Ryan: Incredibly, I’m seeing some news reports about his exit that portray him as a serious policy wonk and fiscal hawk who, sadly, found himself unable to fulfill his mission in the Trump era. Unbelievable. Look, the single animating principle of everything Ryan did and proposed was to comfort the comfortable while afflicting the afflicted. Can anyone name a single instance in which his supposed concern about the deficit made him willing to impose any burden on the wealthy, in which his supposed compassion made him willing to improve the lives of the poor? Remember, he voted against the Simpson-Bowles debt commission proposal not because of its real flaws, but because it would raise taxes and fail to repeal Obamacare. And his “deficit reduction” proposals were always frauds. The revenue loss from tax cuts always exceeded any explicit spending cuts, so the pretense of fiscal responsibility came entirely from “magic asterisks”: extra revenue from closing unspecified loopholes, reduced spending from cutting unspecified programs. I called him a flimflam man back in 2010, and nothing he has done since has called that judgment into question.

So how did such an obvious con artist get a reputation for seriousness and fiscal probity? Basically, he was the beneficiary of ideological affirmative action.

Even now, in this age of Trump, there are a substantial number of opinion leaders — especially, but not only, in the news media — whose careers, whose professional brands, rest on the notion that they stand above the political fray. For such people, asserting that both sides have a point, that there are serious, honest people on both left and right, practically defines their identity.

Yet the reality of 21st-century U.S. politics is one of asymmetric polarization in many dimensions. One of these dimensions is intellectual: While there are some serious, honest conservative thinkers, they have no influence on the modern Republican Party. What’s a centrist to do? The answer, all too often, has involved what we might call motivated gullibility. Centrists who couldn’t find real examples of serious, honest conservatives lavished praise on politicians who played that role on TV. Paul Ryan wasn’t actually very good at faking it; true fiscal experts ridiculed his “mystery meat” budgets. But never mind: The narrative required that the character Ryan played exist, so everyone pretended that he was the genuine article.

Why did this country go to war with Syria?

Why did this country go to war with Syria?

U.S., Britain and France
Strike Syria
over
Suspected Chemical

Just the last times we did this, it did not and will not work!
He is and will still kill innocent citizens of Syria!

Why are we in the USA spending billions of our tax dollars policing other countries without other countries chipping in?

Why did this country go to war with Syria with only two other countries joining with us?

A much better idea at ending the acts of this butcher for all times would be.

The United Nations must force Russia and Iran from Syria once and for all.

Or
If they do not, Expel them from the United Nations!

United Nations Member States

Force this butcher of his people out of the country with whatever it takes as long it is a joint movement with all of the countries in the Unites Nations, Russia and Iran not included unless?

Countries without a military to help do have money, do they not?

The United States of America needs to take care of the abuse in our country before a war with others!

Our poor are getting poorer, our middle-class in becoming the poor-class, our small business owners are going belly up and are joining our middle-class, poor.

Been there done that!

Puerto Rico a country or a state!

Our government must allow a vote from the citizens of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Country or State

and then back off and give in to their wishes.

While we are at it,
back off the ridiculous debt
made for the most part
by this our government!

And this is why it should be.

In 1776 a ragtag group of citizens went to war against an overpowering overlord (the King of the British Isles), to become a free country!

Why should this country overlord any other country or territory?

However, at times a non willing possession!

Puerto Rico’s Complicated History with the United States

It all started with

which began in the spring of 1898, when Puerto Rico was a Spanish territory.

The U.S. invaded Puerto Rico
not only because it was a Spanish territory,
but also due to its interests in developing a sugar market there,

a history professor at the University of Florida.

In the first three decades of its rule, the U.S. government made efforts to Americanize its new possession, including granting full U.S. citizenship to Puerto Ricans in 1917 and considering a measure that would make English the island’s official language. However, during the 1930s, a nationalist movement led by the Popular Democratic Party won wide support across the island, and further U.S. assimilation was successfully opposed. Beginning in 1948, Puerto Ricans could elect their own governor, and in 1952 the U.S. Congress approved a new Puerto Rican constitution that made the island an autonomous U.S. commonwealth, with its citizens retaining American citizenship. The constitution was formally adopted by Puerto Rico on July 25, 1952, the 54th anniversary of the U.S. invasion.

Also while we are at freeing these slave territories!
Organic Act
of the
Virgin Islands

October 1776. Although unofficial, the exchange marked the first acknowledgment of an American flag from foreign soil.

The U.S. Navy and the Interior Departments ran the territory
until Congress passed the Organic Act of the Virgin Islands in 1936, which was revised in 1954.

Since then, the islands have held five constitutional conventions. The 2009 convention adopted a proposed territorial constitution that Congress rejected in 2010. The lawmakers and the Obama administration urged the delegates to try again. Accordingly, the convention reconvened in October 2012 to weigh revisions. But it proved unable to reach a consensus before an Oct. 31 deadline.

Today,
the islands remain a U.S. territory, run by an elected governor. The residents are American citizens.

The Trump Administration is targeting Medicaid

The Trump Administration is targeting Medicaid once again this time they’re threatening our lifetime limits on health coverage.
Trump's budget for the poor, elders and the middleclass.
Building a useless wall and drastically reducing our Medicare and Medicaid Healthcare!
If Donald Trump’s administration could do anything it wanted in health care, this is what it would do, as told by the FY 2019 budget the White House released Monday.
Repeal/replace Obamacare and overhaul Medicaid with Graham-Cassidy — but harsher
At least officially, Trump isn’t giving up on repealing the Affordable Care Act. The budget proposes enacting a repeal-and-replace bill that closely resembles the plan put forward by Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Bill Cassidy (R-LA) last fall, which would have turned much of Obamacare’s funding for Medicaid expansion and premium subsidies into block grants for states to create their own health care programs. It would also overhaul Medicaid with a per-person spending cap.
That plan, you will recall, was projected to lead to 20 million fewer Americans having health insurance in 2026, versus Obamacare, and a $215 billion cut to federal health care spending over 10 years.
This is a good time to note that presidents’ budgets don’t have any force of law and are rarely acted upon. Nevertheless, they are a window into the administration’s priorities and can set the table for future policymaking — say, if Republicans expand their Senate majority in 2019.
The Trump proposal implements the deepest possible cuts for Medicaid and the Graham-Cassidy block grants, picking the lowest of the available growth rates (the regular Consumer Price Index, which is lower than the medical CPI) for the block grants.
